Our DVLA eye test chart is a 3m Snellen style eye chart. The chart is made of plastic and perfect for hanging on a wall. Our direct eye test chart conforms to DVLA standards. It includes the 7.5 test line as introduced by the DVLA and must be viewed from 6m away.

The chart is laminated in an anti-reflective coating as it is designed for direct viewing while hanging. You do not require a lightbox to use this DVLA eye test chart.

As mentioned, the DVLA eye test chart is a Snellen chart. These are used to measure a person’s sight function. Snellen charts have been widely used worldwide since their development in 1862 by Dutch ophthalmologist, Herman Snellen.

The DVLA state that to drive in the UK, you must meet the minimum eyesight standards. This includes having a visual acuity of at least 6/12 (0.5) as measured on the Snellen scale. If you are a lorry or bus driver, you must have a visual acuity of at least 6/7.5 (0.8). An individual can meet this standard using glasses or contact lenses. This DVLA eye test chart is specially designed to include easy measurement of visual acuity for those within this profession.
